1. Who We Are

MargIntelligence ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Lewis Proven, trading as MargIntelligence. Our registered contact email is [email protected].

2. What Data We Collect

When you install MargIntelligence from the Shopify App Store, we collect and process the following data from your Shopify store via the Shopify Admin API and webhooks:

• Orders — order ID, total price, line items, discounts, refunds, financial status, fulfilment status, creation date
• Products & Variants — product title, variant title, SKU, price, cost price (if set in Shopify)
• Inventory — inventory levels per location
• Customers — anonymised customer ID, order count, lifetime value (no name, email address, or personal contact details are stored)
• App preferences — dashboard settings, cost-of-goods entries, goals, and alert thresholds you configure within the app

We do not collect payment card data, personal addresses, or any sensitive personal information.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your store data exclusively to:

• Calculate gross margin, profit, and revenue analytics displayed in your dashboard
• Generate 30-day sales and inventory forecasts
• Produce automated business insights and reorder alerts
• Power the AI business assistant (queries are processed by Anthropic's Claude API — only aggregated numerical data is sent, not raw orders or customer records)
• Send optional weekly or daily email digest reports to the email address you provide

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a dedicated Oracle database hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in the UK (London region). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access is restricted to authorised application processes only.

We retain your store data for as long as your app subscription is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We share limited data only with the following sub-processors, solely as required to provide the service:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — aggregated numerical metrics used to power the AI assistant. No raw order data or customer identifiers are sent.
• Resend — email delivery for digest reports (only your email address and report content)
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure — cloud hosting and database

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are based in the UK or European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about your store
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing
• Data portability

7. Shopify App Store Compliance

MargIntelligence accesses Shopify store data under the following API scopes: read_orders, read_products, read_inventory. We comply with Shopify's API Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

8. Cookies

The MargIntelligence app uses session cookies required by Shopify's embedded app framework for authentication. Our marketing website (margintelligence.com) does not use tracking or analytics cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
